Setting Hammer

$100.00

  • What are these for? Sharpeners use them to adjust the “set” of the shear.  This is done by tapping on the inside/outside of the blade as necessary.
  • What makes these special? The “head” is made of un-tempered steel.  Hammers typically sold are tempered, which means they are very hard, making them unsuitable for setting.  Not only could the blade break under force from a hardened piece of steel, but the scissor blade will be marked by it.
  • Type of wood? The wooden handles are from Toneriko, which is a Japanese Ash wood.
  • Shipping? We send you three separate parts and you assemble!
